CAA Sports' Rules

All other rules than these are governed by NFHS 


Track & Field General Information:

  * Regular season meets are $5 per athlete (max of 4 events). Meets are hosted by schools throughout the CAA. Please write checks payable to the school.
  * State championships are hosted by the CAA. Cost is $12 per athlete (Max of 4 events). Top 3 recieve individual medals. Top 2 teams in each division recieve team trophies. 

Order of Events


Soccer


Junior High 
Time: 2 halves  30min each     1- 10 min overtime --- NO Score equals a tie.
 
   * You must have a min. of 3 girls on the field for coed games. Max 8 boys or Max 8 girls on the field at once.
 
Varsity   
Time: 2 halves  40 min each   1- 15 min overtime -- No Score equals a tie.
 
  * Same coed rules apply from above.
   * NFHS Tie-Breaker rules apply during state tournaments.

Softball

Junior High 
    Time: 1 hour 20 mins. ( No New Inning)   *  Drop Dead 1 hour and 30 mins.
     * Softball/Baseball tie breaker rules apply until state tournament. The last inning must be played out during the state tournaments. No drop dead rule in State Tournament games, time limit still in effect until state finals. No time limit in state finals.
     --- All athletes must use helmets with the face guard on them at all times when  batting  or running bases.
     
 
Varsity
    Time: 1 hour 40 mins  ( No New Inning)  *  Drop Dead 1 hour and 50 mins.
       
     * Softball/Baseball tie breaker rules apply until state tournament. The last inning must be played out during the state tournaments. No drop dead rule in State Tournament games, time limit still in effect until state finals. No time limit in state finals.
    --- Same helmet rules apply 


 Baseball Rules


Basketball

The CAA Basketball program adopts all the rules found in the National Federation of Sate High Schools Associations’ Rules book for both Junior High and High School. The following have been revised to accommodate our program.

Varsity - 8 minutes stop clock quarters

Junior High - 6 minutes stop clock quarters
                     - If team is up by 18 points NO full court press allowed.


Crosscountry

C.A.A. will score five runners per team and place up to seven.  Each runner will know where they came fell in the rankings however, C.A.A. will only apply seven places to any one team when tallying team scores.  If you have questions of this please call Randy Baum.

The fee is $5 per runner with a cap at $50 per team.  Each school has four possible teams - JH Girls, JH Boys, HS Girls and HS Boys with a possible $200 for the school if each of the four teams has more that 10 runners each.

Junior High and High School net height shall be 7 feet 4 1/8 inches high.
Please adjust your nets as close to this height as possible.
